Do we have to select every student who receives a high number of nominations?
No. Nomination results inform the selection process, but adults make the final decision. A high number of nominations may indicate that a student is trusted by peers, but school staff should also consider student readiness, representation, grade-level needs, peer groups, school context, and whether participation is a good fit for the student. The purpose is to build an effective network of trusted peers, not rank students by popularity.
