How do we make sure Hope Squad Members are not taking on too much responsibility?

Role clarity should be taught and reinforced throughout the year. Members should repeatedly hear and practice that their job is to notice, support, and connect - not counsel, keep dangerous secrets, assess risk, or solve another student's problems. Advisors should check in on Member well-being, reinforce boundaries and self-care, provide opportunities to debrief appropriately, and step in if a student appears stressed or overwhelmed.
