How should I choose the right Advisors?
Choose adults who are trusted by students, comfortable building relationships, able to reinforce clear role boundaries, and realistically have time to facilitate meetings and lessons. Advisors do not need to be mental health clinicians, but they should be dependable, supportive, willing to complete required training, and able to follow school referral and safety procedures. Administrator support and protected time are just as important as the individual's interest in serving.
