What does Hope Squad do that our counselors or existing student support programs do not?
Hope Squad does not replace counselors, mental health professionals, crisis teams, or other student-support programs. Its distinct role is to strengthen the human pathway between students and those existing supports by identifying trusted peers, preparing them to notice concerns and respond appropriately, and normalizing connection to adults across the school. Students often see or hear concerns before adults do; Hope Squad helps schools use that peer network safely without turning students into clinicians.
