What has to be in place before we begin nominating students?

Before nominations begin, school leaders should confirm the adults and systems that will support students after concerns are identified. This includes selecting Advisors, reviewing referral and crisis-response procedures, identifying trusted adults and outside mental health resources, establishing a basic implementation timeline, and preparing staff and family communication. The goal is to make sure the adult support system is ready before students are asked to serve as connectors into it.
