What if a selected student decides they no longer want to be on Hope Squad?

Participation should not become an obligation that overrides a student's well-being or willingness to serve. Advisors should talk with the student to understand the concern, determine whether an adjustment or additional support would help, and involve the parent or guardian when appropriate. If the student chooses to step away, the school should support that decision and determine whether another student should be added through the school's selection process.
