What postvention resources does Hope Squad offer?
Hope Squad provides a comprehensive set of postvention resources for the whole school community, including administrators, educators and staff, parents and caregivers, schoolwide students, and Hope Squad Members. Resources are designed to support both preparation before a loss and coordinated response and recovery afterward. Link here to the other postvention preparedness question
Administrators have access to a Postvention Administrator Guide with preparation guidance, communication considerations, response steps, and templates, along with additional resources on topics such as answering student questions, loss anniversaries, memorials, social media, grief, and ongoing recovery.
Hope Squad also provides:
- Parent and caregiver resources for supporting children after a suicide loss.
- Educator and staff resources for communicating with and supporting students.
- Schoolwide student resources focused on grief, help-seeking, and safe responses after loss.
- Age-appropriate Hope Squad Member lessons, including support after a suicide attempt, supporting a grieving friend, and responding after a suicide.
- Healing and recovery activities that can be used as the school community moves forward.
These materials are intended to supplement your school or district’s existing postvention policies and crisis-response procedures, not replace them.
